Aspen Naturalist SUP Tour

Experience one of the most peaceful and scenic paddleboarding adventures in the Aspen area, on our guided Stand Up Paddleboard Naturalist Tour through the stunning North Star Preserve. Your guide will be a Naturalist from the Aspen Center of Environmental Studies (ACES), providing a unique outing that combines the fun of SUP with environmental education!

As you paddle through the calm waters of the upper Roaring Fork River, your ACES guide will introduce you to all of the wildlife experiences that Aspen and the North Star Preserve have to offer. This includes birds, mammals, fish, and plant species that thrive within it’s wetlands, grasslands and riparian habitats. 

This portion of the river is slow moving, so you can indulge in learning and exploration, making this trip perfect to sign up for solo, or to have your family join in! While it’s difficult to guarantee specific wildlife sightings, you are guaranteed to build a deeper appreciation for and connection with the natural beauty that surrounds the Aspen/Snowmass region. 

No prior paddleboarding experience is necessary. Our guides provide a thorough introduction to paddle boarding techniques and safety before launching, helping first-time paddlers feel comfortable and confident on the water. Most guests are surprised by how quickly they learn the basics and begin enjoying the relaxed pace of the trip.
